The Vinaya in Four Parts is an important vinaya text in the Chinese vinaya tradition, recording rules for bhikkhus and bhikkhunīs, monastic regulations, kakka/kamma procedures and vinaya origin stories. It can first be understood within a vinaya literature system, with emphasis typically on precepts, monastic organization and practice regulations.
