OpenSutra hopes to remain a quiet, open, long-lived platform for Buddhist ancient books. It is not built around traffic, commercial ads, or paid access to scripture reading. We hope Buddhist classics from public-domain and open sources can be searched, read, studied, and shared more equally. Support does not buy privileges and is never required. It simply helps this non-profit, non-commercial organizing work continue, covering servers, storage, the reader, metadata, and daily care.

Public materials stay accessible for reading, study, and citation.
Ad-free Quiet
Reading is not interrupted by traffic-driven advertising.
Source Respect
Collection, source, and rights notes are kept traceable where possible.

Use freely, support as conditions allow
OpenSutra exists so more people can freely read, study, and share Buddhist ancient books. Students and learners should simply use the open materials without thinking about support. Reading, citing, reporting errors, and sharing with people who need it are already meaningful forms of support. Financial support is only for those with capacity and willingness; not offering it is completely fine.
For ongoing maintenance
OpenSutra will keep doing its best to maintain the archive. When someone chooses to offer support, this open organizing work can continue with a little more steadiness.
