The Collected Works of Elder Zibai contains the sayings, correspondence, teachings, and discussions of the Ming dynasty eminent monk Zhenke, reflecting the interaction in late Ming Chan between colloquial challenges (jīfēng), koans, and literary composition. It is not only a primary source for studying Zhenke's thought, but also an important text for observing the literati-ization, lecturing-orientation, and printed dissemination of late Ming Buddhism.
