OpenSutra has currently organized the published fascicles of this work under "Yongle Northern Canon/Local Compositions," with image sources and catalog numbers listed separately in each fascicle's record. It can be provisionally understood as a Buddhist treatise/composition; such works typically have value for intellectual history, sectarian history, and the circulation of editions. The value of Buddhist treatises and compositions often lies in preserving specific interpretive traditions of particular authors, schools, or periods.
