The Avataṃsaka Sūtra is an important Mahāyāna scripture relied upon by the Huayan school, centrally presenting ideas and narratives such as the realm of Buddhahood, the practice of bodhisattvas, the interdependent origination of the dharmadhātu, and the visits of the youth Sudhana to spiritual teachers.
