The Dafangguang Yuanjue Xiuduoluo Liaoyi Jing, commonly known as the Sutra of Perfect Enlightenment, is structured around sequential questions posed by twelve bodhisattvas including Mañjuśrī, Samantabhadra, Universal Vision, Vajragarbha, Maitreya, and Pure Wisdom, discussing doctrines such as perfect enlightenment, ignorance, cultivation and realization, calming and contemplation, meditation, and bodhisattva practice. “Twelve Perfect Enlightenments” usually refers to traditions of imagery, praise, or explanation formed around these twelve Perfect Enlightenment bodhisattvas and the sequence of their dialogues.
